On May 16, Riverkeeper’s 20th Shad Festival and Hudson River Celebration comes to Boscobel House and Gardens in Garrison, NY.  This all day festival takes place on the banks of the Hudson River, providing a perfect opportunity for friends and family to enjoy a day in the majestic Hudson Highlands and celebrate the resource that Riverkeeper works to protect.

The American Shad is a historic Hudson River fish whose numbers have seen a great decline. Festival organizers hope that visitors will embrace the cause to protect these great fish and see them flourish again. The event includes live music from the Shad Festival Soundstage, nature hikes, eco-arts and crafts and tree climbing for the kids, plus the newest and best in wellness and eco-friendly living on the “Green Street.”

For more than 44 years, Riverkeeper has been New York’s clean water advocate. Their mission is to protect the ecological integrity of the Hudson River and its tributaries, and to safeguard the drinking water supply of New York City and the lower Hudson Valley.
