Birds of Prey Day at Green Chimneys

Animal and nature lovers won’t want to miss the 18th annual “With Wings and a Prayer: Birds of Prey Day” at Green Chimneys’ Brewster campus on Sunday, June 6.  The event, which is dedicated to children, the environment and raptors, draws thousands of people from across the Hudson Valley each year.  Rain or shine, there will be dozens of educational and family oriented activities from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., including free-flying bird demos, a stage show, hayrides, pony rides and more.

This year’s program also features Jim Fowler of Mutual of Omaha’s Wild Kingdom, Bill Robinson of Wildlife Lectures, Brian Bradley of Skyhunters, James Eyring of Pace Environmental Center, Maggie Howell and Atka of the Wolf Conservation Center, Bruce Lowder of Animal Encounters, Jungle Jim, Eric’s Reptile Adventures, Jonathan Wood of the Raptor Project and the New York State Falconry Association. Tickets are $12 for adults, $8 for seniors and $5 for children 3-11 years. Family passes are $35, and admission is free for children under 3 and military in uniform.

Green Chimneys is located at 400 Doansburg Road in Brewster, NY, just minutes from Route 22 and I-684. More information is available at greenchimneys.org or from Green Chimneys’ public programs department at 845.279.2995 ext. 286.
