Physical Therapy for Uniquely Female Issues with SRM

SRM Women’s Health Physical Therapy provides specialized health care services unique to women throughout all stages of life.  At SRM Women’s Health Physical Therapy, trained therapist Susan Riordan, MSPT, ATC provides pelvic physical therapy to women suffering with urinary incontinence. Susan, who graduated from Columbia University and pursued post graduate work in the women’s health field, says that one third of American women suffer from urinary incontinence.

Medication and adult diapers are not the only way to treat this, says Susan, who believes that pelvic floor weakness contributes greatly to urinary incontinence. At SRM Women’s Health Physical Therapy, Susan provides a one-on-one treatment, customized for each individual. This therapy can allow patients to take control of their bladders. Treatments may consist of education, strengthening, biofeedback and behavior modifications as well. SRM Women’s Health Physical Therapy treats a variety of pelvic floor and women’s health issues, including as pre- and post-partum musculoskeletal issues, osteoporosis and post mastectomy therapy.
