Westchester Toughman Triathlon Now Open for Registration!

Toughman Triathlon in Westchester, NYThe third annual Westchester Toughman Half Iron Triathlon is set for Sept 12 at Croton Point Park, and registration is now open. The weekend begins with The ToughKids triathlon and a vendor expo on Saturday September 11.

The Toughman is the only Half Iron triathlon within four hours of Long Island, New Jersey and Connecticut, and it’s just 30 minutes north of New York. The fresh water swim course takes place in a protected cove of the Hudson River, while the 56m rolling bike course flows across northern Westchester. The 13.1m run is half on trails, and takes participants under and across the Croton Dam. Seventeen aid stations, The Croton Cheerleaders, and Bagpipes and Drums line the running course.

A prize purse of $4,500 will be given to the overall top three male/female finishers, while age group winners will get a special award and plaque. All finishers get a hat, a medal, and a Zootsports t-shirt, and all racers and volunteers can attend the post race BBQ. This year’s charities include The Boomer Esiason Foundation for Cystic Fibrosis, Cooley’s Anemia, the American Cancer Society, and Habitat for Humanity. This race also allows all racers and volunteers to raise money for their own charities through the “Community Fund.”
