Aromatherapy Certification Program Begins Fall, 2010 in Mount Kisco

Amy Vona, Campus Director of Finger Lakes School of Massage

Amy Vona of The Finger Lakes School of Massage in Mt. Kisco is now offering a 200-hour Aromatherapy Certification Program. The course begins in September and offers professional clinical certification through NAHA, the National Association for Holistic Aromatherapy. Aromatherapy is based on the healing properties of fragrant essential oils extracted from plants. The field unites the intuitive art of plant energetics with the science of botany to blend aromas for physiological, psychological, and spiritual well-being.

The program will include an in-depth study of over 50 essential oils. Students will create natural products to provide support for cold and flu, pain relief, allergies, inflammation, infection and more. The class supports green living by empowering students to create their own natural household cleaners, insect repellents, and body care products. The essential oils are blended into organic salts, oils, butters, and salves that are included in the course tuition. Upon graduation, students will have new career opportunities, whether their interest lies in starting a new business, creating a new product line, working in retail or working clinically as a healer.

The course runs from September 25 through December 14 on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6 to 9:30 p.m. and on five Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. It will be held at the Finger Lakes School of Massage in Mount Kisco and Massage Therapists can earn 90 CEUs.
