Le Petite Spa offers Alternative to Paraffin Treatments

Spa Celebrates Anniversary with Paraffin-Alternative Treatment

Mary Prenon, owner of Le Petite Spa

Le Petite Spa, an organic, vegan day spa in Croton-on-Hudson, is celebrating its first anniversary by offering clients a unique, eco-friendly treatment for hands and feet. The spa is the only one in the area to offer this alternative to paraffin treatments, instead blending palm, soy, jojoba and organic coconut oils to leave skin soft and supple.

Paraffin wax is a chemical preservative and solid form of paraffin, which contains petroleum by-products. In California, state officials have identified at least seven major toxins in paraffin wax, including toluene and benzene—substances found in paint, lacquer and varnish removers.

Le Petite Spa’s paraffin-alternative treatment involves warming the organic oils in a liner and applying them to the hands or feet, followed by pre-heated mitts or booties. In keeping with the spa’s “green” practices, this treatment also features biodegradable hand and foot liners in place of plastic liners.

“My clients depend on me to provide organic and environmentally safe spa products and services,” says Le Petite Spa owner Mary T. Prenon. “I went the extra mile to find something that would mirror a paraffin treatment without any harmful ingredients. It was also important for me to find a product that does not pollute the environment.”

Le Petite Spa specializes in organic facials, massage therapy and reflexology. They also offer the Yum Gourmet Skin Care line, which is certified organic and certified vegan.  For more information, please visit LePetiteSpaNY.com.
