Restorative Yoga Workshops in Mt. Kisco Bring Peace and Tranquility to the Holidays

karla_0043aQuest Yoga Arts in Mt. Kisco presents relaxing and restorative yoga workshops on two Sundays, December 9 and 16, from 5 to 7 p.m. The cost is $25 per session.

“It’s been a busy fall and many of us have had to deal with quite a bit of stress,” says instructor Karla Diamond. “We want to help keep people healthy and invite them to come and take a break. The workshops allow people to relax fully and deeply, reducing stress, muscle tension, fatigue, blood pressure and mental overload.”

Diamond says that restorative yoga involves propping the body in gentle poses, usually on the floor, to get the best alignment and support for releasing muscle tension. “The poses are held for 5 to 15 minutes, freeing the breath and allowing the body to deeply relax,” she notes. “The practice restores the body to balance and improves digestion, elimination and breathing.”

A certified yoga instructor for more than a decade, Diamond also teaches the Alexander Technique and sees clients for bodywork. To inquire about her sessions, visit and call 914.649.9565.
