Jenia & Steve Quinn of Human Touch Healing Arts Launch Healing School in Croton on Hudson

Finding Inner Stillness at the Healing School

After a number of healing clients asked “How is this possible?” and “What does it take to become a healer?” Jenia and Steve Quinn of Human Touch Healing Arts decided to create a school in which everyone who so desires can become a healer. Based in Croton on Hudson, the Healing School program is designed to take people on a journey into the foothills of the healing domain, covering territories such as the energy of color, stones and plants, the art of sensing, seeing and cleaning auras, and an overview of the natural balances that engender wellbeing in life. For years, Jenia and Steve have offered a variety of treatments and services ranging from energy healing-based addiction cessation to healing treatments, massage therapy and Well Being Coaching. They are excited to offer their Healing School as a way for people to learn these techniques and promote more healing in a world that greatly needs it. The fall dates include full days on October 2, 23, and 30 and December 4 and 5, and Thursday nights from October through December.

Please call 914.473.2015 or visit HealingNY.com for more information.

Painting, and a Creative Approach to Family Healing

Eve-Marie Elkin

Eve-Marie Elkin is offering a Painting from the Inside Out workshop in Tarrytown on Saturday, September 11 from 12 to 5p.m. Elkin has been teaching the Painting from the Inside Out process for the past three years. It gives participants an opportunity to let movement from within take shape and color through the brush and onto the paper.

Now, Elkin is expanding her offerings to include the Family Constellation work of Bert Hellinger. Family Constellations take creativity off the paper and into a circle of people who help bring family dynamics to life. As in all living systems, families contain movement and history, called the “family soul” in Constellation work. This soul shows balances, imbalances, health and disease within the family that may cause suffering and the repetition of destructive patterns. Family constellation work allows people to create a visual representation of these dynamics in a circle with others who help them to see and experience patterns of dis-ease in a new way and move forward with ease. Elkin is excited to present a workshop in Family Constellation work on Saturday, Oct. 2 from 1 to 5 p.m. in Tarrytown.

For details and more information on Family Constellation work or to check out new fall classes in Painting from the Inside Out, visit evemarieelkin.com.

Reduce Stress With New Biofeedback Training Using Your Laptop

Dr. Mark Sirkin

Dr. Mark Sirkin is expanding his hypnotherapy practice to include limited biofeedback training. Biofeedback is the use of special technology to “see” one’s own physiological reactions and use that information to train the body to control its responses. Although there are a number of reasons to use biofeedback, the most common is to reduce stress. Learning to master stress is probably one of the most effective things people can do to improve overall health.

Typically, biofeedback equipment can help train the mind and body to relax, slow the heart rate, and realign. Unlike other healing methods such as hypnosis and meditation, biofeedback can actually confirm that a state of relaxation is achieved using specific tools. Biofeedback training enables people to use these tools to attain healthier states.

The newest biofeedback technology allows people to use a laptop computer to engage in interactive exercises and games for mind-body training. Not only will people be able to practice relaxation and focusing techniques, they will see the results of their efforts in “real time,” learn what is working, and improve their technique.

Dr. Sirkin will present a free workshop, “Mental Mastery: New Approaches to Managing Stress using Biofeedback, Hypnosis, and other Methods,” on Monday July 12 from 6:30 – 7:30 p.m. at Full Circle Family Care, 1241 Mamaroneck Avenue, White Plains, NY. Call 914.421.1500 or visit him at BountifulBrain.com

Living and Thriving After Breast Cancer

Rochelle Togo-Figa

Rochelle Togo-Figa

Rochelle Togo-Figa wants post-treatment breast cancer survivors to redesign their lives and thrive. Rochelle’s dream is to gather women who have survived breast cancer and inspire them to transform their experience into something great. Sixteen years after her own breast cancer diagnosis, with a successful company and the life of her dreams underway, Rochelle is ready to give back with the one-day retreat “Your Life After Breast Cancer: Step Into Your Purpose and Thrive.”  Rochelle wants to show women how to design and enjoy an exceptional life with the tools, techniques and tips she has perfected as a coach.

“A breast cancer diagnosis changes your life,” says Rochelle, “and statistically, 98 percent of women diagnosed with cancer confined to the breast are alive five years later.  But the ‘missing link’ in the health care system is the lack of post treatment support.” Rochelle says that once a patient ends treatment and returns to her normal life, she needs encouragement to make the personal life changes needed to pursue dreams and move from surviving to thriving.

Your Life after Breast Cancer: Step into Your Purpose and Thrive Retreat will be held on June 26 at the Marriott Courtyard in Rye, NY. For more information and to register, contact Rochelle Togo-Figa at 914.923.6351 or visit www.yourlifeafterbreastcancer.com/step-into-your-purpose
