Dr. Wald, “Blood Detective” to Speak in White Plains September 20, 2011

Dr. Michael Wald

Dr. Michael Wald of Integrated Medicine & Nutrition is the featured presenter at the next Westchester Holistic Network (WHN) breakfast meeting on September 20. Wald will speak on ways to determine a person’s nutritional needs by considering genetics, stress and exercise levels, medications, diet, and other factors. After being diagnosed with Multiple Scleroses at the age of 18, Wald set out to find a more holistic way to manage his disease. Today he is director of nutritional services at Integrated Medicine of Mount Kisco and the author of several books, including Multiple Sclerosis: Medical & Nutrition Approaches to Optimal Health.

Wald developed the “Blood Detective,” a procedure that allows doctors to medically and nutritionally interpret blood work to find hidden problems. The Blood Detective approach surpasses traditional blood panel tests to look for other clues that the blood offers about a person’s health. For example, a woman with weight gain and difficulty losing weight would be tested for total T3, T4 and TSH (not just TSH and T3) as well as other hormones that are necessary for healthy thyroid function.

The WHN breakfast meeting takes place from 8 to 10 a.m. at the Spirituality Center at Good Counsel Campus, 52 North Broadway in White Plains. The cost is $15 for members, $18 for non-members.  For more information visit WestchesterHolisticNetwork.org.

Dr. Michael Wald can be reached at 914.242.8844 or by emailing drwald@intmedny.com.  Learn more about his work at BloodDetective.com and IntMedNY.com.

Linda Richichi Uses Intuition to Unlock Your Creativity

The Chalice of the Soul by Linda Richichi

Hudson Valley artist and teacher Linda Richichi has always let her intuition be the muse that inspires her creativity. Well known for painting plein-air landscapes, Richichi captures nature’s energy and transforms it into a brilliance of color that is both beautiful and mystical. She recently let her intuitive awareness propel her onto a new journey of channeling information about people and expressing it through images. Richichi says these “Soul Portraits” capture a person’s unique essence. “It’s all about trusting the images that come to you, not judging them,” she says.

This fall Richichi continues her series of workshops that explore this process and inspire others to tap into their own intuition as a means of discovering and expanding their creativity. “I loved working with Linda,” says Mary Agnes Antonopoulos, who attended an earlier workshop.  “I’m not an artist, but it didn’t matter. The exercises we did were amazing. I created a beautiful collage and later realized it actually helped me work out some issues.”

Richichi’s next workshop, Intuitive Expressions, takes place on September 18.
